Episode 50!
I’ve been sitting on this one for a while waiting for the opportune time to return it to the airwaves. That time has arrived!
Norm Nathan’s Vault of Silliness presents a Dumb Birthday Game from August 10th, 1992.
I will title this: A Gem of Foolish Hilarity
EVERY time I listen to this, I laugh just as hard.
If ever there was an example of Norm’s motto: “Leave this world a little sillier than you found it” it’s this one.
Our esteemed panel is a s follows:
Paul – the school teacher from Malden
Little Mike from Chelmsford – 13 years old and only 5” tall.
Dominic from RI (he can’t help it he has to live someplace)
Chris from PA who is expecting twins!
I’m producing and in studio
Russ Gannon in Traffic
Featured Birthdays:
Jimmy Dean
Eddie Fisher
Patti Austin
Roseanna Arquette
Rhonda Flemming
Ian Andersen
And then some dates in history to round out the game:
What year was Herbert Clark Hoover born?
And Leo Daft opened America’s first commercially operated electric streetcar in Baltimore.
The whole crew really goes off the rails, especially Norm!
Other high lights include:
Commercials and promos:
Dave Maynard – Cruise Night! Caitlyn Travel/Wanderlust Travel Club
WBZ’s Monday Night Quarterback with Scott Wahle
The Birthday-gate Scandal reignites like a trick candle.
There’s one of the DBG excuses that drove Norm crazy.
Tiny Mike seems to have written a whole stand-up routine!
Norm has been delinquent in sending out prizes.
We are treated to guest appearances by Jack Benny, Lionel Barrymore Jimmy Stewart AND Arthur Godfrey.
We contemplate a philosophical statement so deep that we have to embroidered it on our doillies.
And Norm has an epiphany that if management fired him, he’d have no defense. Even the Union would abandon him after this show.
Norm Nathan’s Vault of Silliness brings a whole new dimension to broadcasting…again.
