Today’s episode, number 63 to be exact, is another Dumb Birthday Game. This time from November 13th, 1994.
Now this is an excellent example of Norm’s appeal to younger listeners as I've titled it: The DBG: College Bowl Edition!
All our players are attending college in the Boston area.
Well, to be truthful, I’m not sure about one but he’s still a younger caller.
Our contestants:
Scott from higher education unknown
Jonathan at Harvard University
Raj from MIT
The peer pressured Lara from B.U.
Sid Whittaker, producing, playing and a student at B.U.
And the Dean of Traffic School, Jack Harte
For some reason I was busy in the newsroom and could not participate.
An interesting tidbit about Jonathan: he was the co-creator of Inside Edge Magazine. A periodical geared toward 18-24 year olds.
Norm had spoken to him earlier and plugs it a few times during the game. Mr. Jonathan has done quite well for himself as he is a CFO of some large company.
The celebrity birthdays and events:
Whoopi Goldberg
Linda Christian
Richard Mulligan
Madeleine Sherwood
Joe Mantegna
Events:
What year did…
…the Holland Tunnel open?
…Walt Disney’s ‘Fantasia’ made its world premiere?
In what year was artificial snow invented?
During this game, many stories are told, references made, opinions given and souls bared.
Did I build that up enough for you?
Episode 63, the College Bowl Edition of the DBG staaaaaaarrrrts now.
