I hope this is one of those episodes you’ve all been waiting for…
The great STEVE ALLEN joined us on April 11th, 1993 for a fascinating interview.
Now he was supposed to be on at 11pm but no one answered.
I kept trying throughout the hour and finally connected.
His wife, Jane Meadows, answered the phone!
Somehow our scheduled interview didn’t make it into his book, but he was happy to stay and took calls too.
I have to say that it’s never lost on me, as I still get giddy, when I think about the people I’ve spoken to, met and worked with during those years. Especially when we were planning Norm’s 50th Anniversary and I had all these famous, local broadcasters calling my home to set up interviews or coordinate sending in a tape.
Heck, even when I produced the Boston Bruins broadcasts it was always a thrill to be there in the booth, every night, with Hall of Famer, the Chief, Johnny Bucyk.
Radio was all I wanted to do in my life.
I’ve missed it greatly but am so happy to be doing it here.
The Vault has been very kind in its preservation of these great times that Norm and I had together.
I love sharing these times with you.
It’s time to let the interview speak for itself.
Ladies and gentlemen, here is Norm Nathan with Steve Allen.
