Show Notes

It’s Swell Music Quiz time here on NNVoS – this time from March 11th, 1995.

Titled: It may be a ‘Quiz’ but Norm is ‘testy’

Jim Frawley was the producer.

We begin with Norm and the major changes being made for our Show Stage.

The panel of experts:

Ed Mullen – also appearing as a category?

Tony ‘Bennett’ Nesbitt

Jack ‘It’s Good to Be Here’ Harte

And Darrell Gould!

The usual Categories:

Rock n Roll

Musical Comedy

Jazz and Big Band

And with Darrell, Doo-Wop and “Old timey Rock n Roll”

The Rules are deciphered by Ed Mullen.

As always a Cheap Certificate of Award is the prize.

NOW the game begins…

And Helene comes to Norm’s rescue

INTERMISSION

Ok, that gave me time to switch the cassette to Side B and we pick up with:

Linda Chase who was supposed to be joining us but got held up at her show because she’s just so darn popular.

Joanne in Rochester, NY

Betty in Randolph

Deedee in W. Va

Other moments sprinkled throughout:

The subject of WBCN comes up, which used to be known as Boston’s Concert Network, and Norm has an opinion.

We get the Chicken/Pea soup joke!

We learn what song played the first time Norm got a hot meal at the Senior Citizen’s Center.

Not helping his mood, Norm complains that he’s done all this work on his new typewriter and there’s been very few questions asked of him.

Ed provides a possible solution.

A new category maybe added for future shows.

And as always, we clean up the outstanding questions.

Ep 77 (That’s the Strip!) - It may be a ‘Quiz’ but Norm is ‘testy’ gets a rollin’ in a-1-a and a-2-a and a-3-a.
